So for August, I learnt that my new gym wouldn’t be open until September. Aaargh!!! As I was itching to get back into the gym, I decided that I need to try out something new in the meantime.
For August, I decided that I would try out crossfit for a month. Having chatted to a few people who do it, I thought I would give it a try. I didn’t think I would love it as much as I do. Yeah it is difficult, but it’s the camaraderie and the self drive to improve myself which is what I am enjoying about it. The plan was to only do this for a month, but I think I will carry on.
Additionally, to crossfit I thought I would put my hand to other things, such as acrobatics. Abbie & I booked ourselves into a trapeze session, and I was all looking forward to it, however we walked into the wrong class and ended up doing ariel yoga instead. Once we realised we were in the wrong class, we decided we may as well carry on. Let’s just say I am not as flexible as I used to be, and I don’t think I am supposed to kiss my own ass. Oh and I sweated more than expected.
A less vigorous sport that I tried was axe throwing. A group from work decided to try this out for a laugh, and we really enjoyed it. Turns out that this gay can throw. I wasn’t brilliant, but I was alright. Plan is to do it again, and this time beat my score.

August is also an important month for the majority of the Manchester gays. It is what is affectionately called gay Xmas, aka Manchester Pride.
It’s fair to say that I had a fantastic time, with old friends and new. It’s probably one of the best prides in a long time, even though I never saw the majority of it. I just had a blast with friends.
