Today is all about…June 2019

Thought of the month

As I reflect on June, it got me thinking about all the things I got up to and celebrated, whether big or small. We had my brother’s wedding, our housewarming and even the success of laying our first deck.

We go through life, and we remember and focus on the bad things that happened to us. Yes, we remember some of the good things, but some of the smaller successes are easily forgotten.

That’s one of the reasons I started this photo-a-day project back in 2011, so I can remember what I’ve achieved.

So we need to learn to celebrate our successes more and think less about the bad. And that advice goes for me too!

This month’s activities

June saw us officially been in our new house for six months, so we thought it was about time that we had a housewarming to celebrate. There was a last few minute DIY jobs that we needed to complete before the event.

There was also a lot of people we wanted to invite including friends, family and neighbours. Some hadn’t met each other, but everyone got on like a house on fire. And we may have drunk enough alcohol to open our own off-license.

Thanks for everyone who came, partied and celebrated. Love you all.

At the end of the last year, a group at work decided that we would do Rough Runner, which is a bit like Tough Mudder with inflatables.

We all had a great day, but if I am honest for the price you pay it’s a bit meh! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good stepping stone into assault courses. But if you want a challenge, then this isn’t really the one for you.

For those that know me, I love the theatre. I’d rather go to the theatre than the cinema. Although, I don’t get to go as much as I’d like because it’s too expensive.

I was giving the opportunity to go and see Rotterdam at the Palace Theatre, and I absolutely loved it.

Sometimes it is good to go and see some littler known shows, such as John and Yank!, which can provide a nice pleasant surprise and a great evening out.
