May was about friends; some close and some more an acquaintance. A mixture of good and bad times.
The month was spent celebrating birthdays or the return of our annual Eurovision party.
And while May was full of happy memories, it was tarred with one of the most horrific events to hit Manchester in years…the Manchester Arena bomb!
To hear the bomb from my flat, and then watch the story unfold was something that I will never forget.
Seeing comments from many on Facebook saying they were safe, realising that how close and personal it all became.
Finding out you knew one of the victims days later broke my heart.
I didn’t know Martyn Hett well, but he left his mark. Like he did on many people who knew him.
I don’t feel justified to share stories about Martyn; that’s for his good friends and family. However, I’ll share what I wrote when I found out that Martyn was killed.
Words cannot express how I am feeling right now.
I may not of known Martyn well, but he left his mark over the 10 years that I’ve known him. Both in person and online, he was full of joy and happiness..
My thoughts go out to all his friends and family.
