A week after the TBN event, I am heading to Newcastle for the official Bad Taste Bears Massacre event.
Originally I wasn’t going to go because of the cost, but after a small persuasion from Lee, I agree to go and I am glad that I did.
We arrived early on Saturday due to Lee having prior engagements. We ended up going to the owners house for a drink before the doors open. Let’s just say their house was massive, but I am sure that was just to house an equally massive Great Dane (which was so sweet).
Before the doors open, Chris and I ended up having an argument with a old fart. Not only did we tell her where the queue was, but she then demanding that we go behind them because they were at the front of the queue (although we got to the doors first). After a heated discussion where I was very close to losing my rag, we ended up chatting to the creator Pete Underhill, which I am sure pissed her off more!!!
The event was another fancy dress event, and although I had a costume (mad chef), I wasn’t really in the mood so decided decided not to wear it. As the entertainment for the event they had a hypnotist, and I decided that I would volunteer myself, however I didn’t go under so wasn’t used. Although, it’s probably one of the funniest things I have seen live in a long time, so I glad I didn’t go under, otherwise I would have missed it all.
The massacre was definitely one of the best events that has been put on by Bad Taste Bears, and probably one of the best for coming away with good prizes. Both Chris and I won prizes with our raffle tickets (and good ones at that), and then on the ‘Yucky Dip’ (which is like a lucky dip, but involving baked beans, porridge etc) I won some really good prizes as well.
Let’s just hope the next event held by Bad Taste Bears is just as good. I am sure it will be.
