As we approach the end of March, I’ve finally caught up with my February blogs. Yay!
In my defence, I’m busy and don’t have the time and money to devote to the site as I’d like. Maybe, if the UK government to do an Aussie law where social media have to pay you for sharing news articles. I mean, my blog is surely worth reading more than a Murdoch shit-rag, right?
Granted, if they banned me as they did with the Aussie news, there wouldn’t be such a big uproar. Oh well, I shall continue with the day job then.
Thought of the Month: Lockdown Roadmap Anxiety
Albeit late in publishing, February had me thinking about the Lockdown Roadmap, and what my initial thoughts were.
I think it is fair to say that Fucked-up Mike has been making an appearance recently. I didn’t think it helped, that my happy pills were late being delivered and I was a few days cold turkey!
However, Logical Mike is back and normality has resumed. Well, as normal as I can be. Although, I still stand by the sentiment, although probably a little saner.
Monthly Highlights
Hospital
At the end of last year, I had a really bad case of heartburn, which left me in pain for a few weeks.
I woke up, and while getting out of bed, had excruciating sharp chest pain; that had me crippled over for what felt like minutes but was most likely seconds. I had a pain in my chest, which eventually just led to dull pain, for a few weeks that I could tell was just there. Additionally, I was struggling to eat or drink because everything I swallowed felt like glass.
The symptoms all led to heartburn, but internally I was a little worried that it could of been something else. So, after drinking a few bottles of Gaviscon to no effect, I decided to call the doctor. I felt like I was going to be wasting their time, but with my family history, I think it’s better to be safe and sorry.
In November I had an ECG to check how my ticker was performing, and thankfully everything came back fine. However, as I was still having this dull chest pain in my chest. Taking into account the family history, they referred me to the cardiology for a CT Scan, as a precaution and ease-of-mind.
I got my appointment for February, and off I went for the test. I was a little apprehensive, but everything went okay. It’s been a while, and I still haven’t heard anything in relation to the results. So no news is good news. Right? I do need to chase that up.
The one thing that stuck with me from that appointment, was while being injected with this solution to assist with the scan they said, that it will feel like I am peeing myself, but I won’t be.
I did not get that feeling. No the feeling that I got was that my IBS had just come to say hello mid-scan. No lie, I got off that table, and triple checked that nothing seeped through my jeans.
Driving Miss Daisy
Last month, as the husby was out of action due to the surgery on his hand, I started driving again. Much to the surprise to a few friends, who didn’t actually know that I held a driving license, let alone was able to drive.
At the beginning of February, the husband was so excited to get back to work after the surgery, however he ended up getting a bad eye infection which required hospital treatment. This meant that my driving duties had increased, as I was driving his to the hospital for his appointments.
However, I felt like I made a huge achievement in relation to my driving. I was confident enough to drive the car on my own with no-one else in it. And I didn’t crash it, so that’s a bonus!
Desk set-up
My home office area, has been a work in progress for a while now, but February saw the final shelf being added .
Granted, I may of got overly excited in B&Q because the wood guy was there to help chop to the right size. However, not only did I pick up the wrong width shelf, I also got the wood guy to chop it to the wrong length! Thankfully, it was still longer than required, so could fix it at home.
It all worked out in the end, and my office space/Kylie shrine feels right now. And I have space to add stuff in the future.
Next stage is to update my monitor set up!
