Today is all about…February 2022

Summary:

A daily photo project turned diary, “Today is all about…” has grown over the years. What does February 2022 tell you about me?

So, did anyone have a war on their 2022 bingo card? I mean FFS, we just got through the last two years of a pandemic. I’ve not even had time to put my dancing shoes on, and now fear that February ihas now put WW3 on the table!

Putin is a narcasistic cock womble. No wonder Trump is so far up his arse – they are a match made in heaven!

But enough of the war criminal, who has been killing innocent people to feed his paranoid ego, while spouting propaganda to his people to justify the crap he is doing!

Not only do I hope that this ridiculous war will be over soon, but it’ll be the end of Putin, his minions and their regime. And Ukraine can come back stronger than ever before.

Monthly thought: Neighbours

After 37 years on TV, it’s officially been announced that Neighbours will cease filming at the end of the summer.

As a Neighbours fan since the beginning, this has been a little upsetting, especially since the show is the strongest it has ever been for years.

So for the next few months, it’s all about celebrating the show, than feeling sad that it’s coming to an end.

This month talking points

ChippyTuesdayᵀᴹ are back!

It’s the relaunch that everyone has been waiting for. The return of ChippyTuesdayᵀᴹ.

With a few false starts, over the last few months, they are back and it’s been great to have a good old catch up with friends.

And our calendar is starting to fill up for the next month too! So, it’ll be nice to have other people in the photos, that’s for sure!

Camelot Rises

A person scared of a zombie, who has come into the car

When I first heard about Camelot Rises, I needed to go. I love run-down derelict places, so going to an iconic theme park which is now in ruins had to be done.

The husby is not a fan of horror movies, so we brought along our mates for the entertainment. I’m talking about Chris, not the film. Chris would be the entertainment!

For those that don’t know, the event is an immersive theatre experience. You drive through the park, where you come face-to-face with zombies before arriving at the drive-thru to watch the film.

Having the husby drive was probably not the wisest, because as soon as we were close to a zombie, he would put feet to peddle. I had to tell him to slow down so I could at least get a selfie with a zombie.

I will be honest, I was a little disappointed. Both by the lack of zombies, and park!

At certain points of the journey, you would see a zombie. Just the one, it would have been nice to have a couple terrorising you. There were more soldiers than zombies, and while it was fun. It would have been nice to have this plague of zombies. Granted the husby, wouldn’t like that.

In relation to the park, there was a lot of promo material showing the derelict rollercoaster, which would have been a great backdrop, alas it was demolished in 2020! In fact, there was very little left of Camelot apart from a few buildings.

I can understand the health and safety aspect of why they were demolished, but the fact is, it was more Camelot Flattened than Camelot Rises.

The cinema area was good, which cages zombies and photo spots and food. And they were well organised in getting everyone in.

The film we had booked, on the advice of our friend Carl, was Rec. Turns out he forgot it was a Spanish film, so we spent a lot of time reading the subtitles. However, I actually enjoyed the film.

Prior to and during the movie, you would be surrounded by zombies (and soldiers), as they come into your car was great fun. For us, not the husby.

He was adamant that he locked the doors, he was safe. Turns out he hadn’t, and provided the photo that captured the whole night.

I would definitely do another immersive cinema event, and there are a few out there. So I may see what we can do next.

Another Place

The one thing that the husby and I wast to do more is day dates. Just the two of us, spending some valuable time together while trying not to kill each other!

One place I’ve always wanted to go to was Crosby beach so that I could see the Another Place sculptures.

While it was a windy day, and getting sandblasted the whole time, there is just something that is so peaceful about this place.

Each sculpture is made from the mould of the artists (with an impressive widgey-woo I may add), however, due to their position on the beach, the erosion of the sculptures provides each one with a unique character.

It also gave me the opportunity to do some photography which I enjoy. I may not be good, but it keeps me quiet.

After a bitch of a beach walk, we found a local pub for something to eat, before heading back home.

Just need to find a few other places to visit, over the next few months.
