Today is all about…July 2025

Summary:

Started in 2011, the daily photo project-turned-diary has evolved over the years. Here’s a look at what happened in July 2025.

While July is known for being Pride Month, this year it was for the straights.

The bucket hats were out in force as Oasis mania hit the UK. Fun fact, I saw them at Knebworth in 1994. I had a great day… until they arrived!

Then there were the fragile CIS men, led by misogynist Joey Barton. All getting pissed because England’s women’s football team showed them what it looks like to win trophies!

Meanwhile, here I am being a bad gay, as I haven’t been to a single pride in 2025!

Talking Points

OZTV

Last year, I attended my first OZTV event, and I had a blast, albeit with a little drama getting home.

I decided to go again this year. It had a plethora of Neighbours stars, including the Elaine Smith (aka Daphne Clarke).

While I plan to write a proper review, I will say that I had an absolute blast again. It didn’t have the magic that I felt last year.

However, there was still some drama. There had to be!

This time with the photos. Long story short, my group photo was corrupted! The photographer was able to salvage something that resembles an AI-generated dream. At least I have something, which I should be grateful for.

A group shot of me with some Neighbours actors and holding a "Ramsay Street" road sign. Charlotte Chimes (played Nic Stone), Elaine Smithe (played Daphne Clarke), Alan Fletcher (played Dr Karl Kennedy), Kym Valentine (played Libby Kennedy) and Jacinta Stapleton (played Amy Greenwood)

Richard

I met Richard during the Federation years. We’d be out clubbing, see each other, have a chat and say hello. The clubbing years of the past were a vastly different experience from now.

And while our friendship was built on nights out, we got to know each other outside of this. Our gaggle of gays were intertwined.

Richard was always interested in you and what you had to say. We would spend many an hour just chatting, laughing and talking shite!

One of my favourite memories is when a group of us were chilling at his and Paul’s house. We were chilling, chatting and listening to music. It was a truly relaxing night, where everyone took the opportunity to get to know one another.

I clocked it was 3am, and went “Shite, I am doing the Manchester run in a couple of hours”. In my defence, I only found out that I was running it the day before!

So the husby and I left, so I could get a few hours’ sleep before I ran 10k! Somehow, I still managed to complete the run in under an hour!

After a long battle with cancer, this month we said goodbye to Richard. As family and friends joined to celebrate his life, there was many “Do you remember when…” conversations followed by loads of laughter!
