June is the month that England was due to come out of lockdown. Alas, it was delayed (begrudgingly by Boris) but it was the right decision.
They’ve been very vocal that ‘Freedom Day’ will not be delayed anymore, because ‘Rona is just gonna piss off by 19th July.
We’re basically going back to Boris’ original plan of herd immunity, and we’re expecting cases could rise to 100,000 cases a day. And while a large part of the population is vaccinated, the young and vulnerable are left out to dry die!
And where are Kier Starmer and the rest of the Labour motley crew? Fuck knows! I think they have gone AWOL just as their councillors did during the recent local elections.
Monthly Thought: Pride (History) Month
June is also Pride Month, where we are treated to the same rhetoral ‘Where is straight pride?’ and the other regurgitated homophobic crap that they repeat because the two brain cells that they have can’t think for themselves!
There is also a number of gays who are feeding the homophobes, with their own unknowledgable crap.
So, I feel that we should use June to share our history, to teach the baby gays and the rest of society about our history.
Pride events would still continue, and these events should be used to tackle the current issues that we’re experiencing.
This month talking points
Make a house a home – Loft update
This month finally saw our loft get boarded out, and a new hatch added.
This was something that I wanted done, so that I could sort out all the crap. And I aint gonna lie, that shit is shorted…mostly.
All the crap that was up there filled the spare room. I’m surprised that we still had a ceiling.
After spending the majority of June’s salary on storage boxes, everything has been catergorised (with my new Dymo label maker), and given a home within the loft.
Granted there is a huge pile of stuff that needs sorting, either sold, donated or binned. But that has a home and is going to be a work in progress.
A large proportion are my Bad Taste Bears. So once, I have sorted through all of them, then there will be a lot of space available.
KY Kelly
A while back, our friends/neighbours organised a get together, but lockdown kinda got in the way. Standard! So June finally saw this event happening, which included a drag show from the fabulous KY Kelly.
As much as I was looking forward to the wee party, as the day got closer my anxiety took over…for a number of reasons. Before leaving, I wanted to chicken out of attending, but I went.
When I got there, I felt stupidly overwhelmed and just wanted to hide. And as much as I tried to not let it get to me, it did. So I left…just as KY Kelly had started.
I did come back at the end for a little bit and caught the end of the show. Although, I want to reach out and apologise to Graham & Andy, as well as KY for the vanishing act!
Family BBQ
As Father’s Day is also in June, and its been a while since we had all the family together, so we decided to have a BBQ with just the family.
I learnt a new lesson at the BBQ. You never can have too much food when you have three nephews there.
The term ‘eating us out of house and home’ exists for a reason. Now I know why?
It’s been good to see all the family together, with everyone having a good all laugh.
Abergele
The last weekend of the month, the husby and I went on a day trip to Abergele.
It was a nice and quiet day. There wasn’t a lot of people about, and we could just have a nice leisurely stroll.
I took my newly purchased drone with us, so we could use it in a local park. His safe to say, the drone has been returned as it was crap!
Okay, this wasn’t a professional drone. It was a toy version, but I wanted to have a play before investing into an expensive one.
I wasn’t expecting much, but I did expect it to be controllable. The controls were intermitent. So much so, I spent most of the time fetching it from a ditch!
I would still like a proper drone in the future.
