As we approach the end of July I am finally sitting down to write my monthly overview for June!
Again, it will be a light post as I’ve not written other posts.
Well, that’s a lie. I started and then cancelled a blog about ‘I Kissed a Boy’ because I never got around to finishing it, and now seems too late to finish!
Ah well, here are the talking points for June.
Talking Points
Hot tub
I will be upfront that June and the future months ahead are likely to contain a few hot tub photos.
The gays and hot tubs go together like bread and butter, or more likely gin and tonic!
We just love a gay soup, don’t we?
When we were purchasing the house we did speak about getting a hot tub. It was agreed, begrudgingly, that we would have a fish pond instead!
In the last couple of staycations, we have gone to lodges with a hot tub including our recent weekend at Welshpool.
So the conversation arose again recently about having our own hot tub, and after a very biased argument by James and Ste, we ended up at B&Q buying all the equipment.
There are pros and cons to this kind of investment.
The biggest con is the running cost, however, we looked at the other factors whether it would be worth it!
Pros lead to us spending more time together, me spending more time in the garden (I’ve probably spent the most time in the garden this month than I have during the whole time living here), and then there are the therapeutic/muscular advantages.
It’s definitely been money well spent!
Pride Month
June is the launch of Pride Month, which all came around due to the US having their pride events in this month!
The conservative hate this time of year, because, well they hate the gays!
To the extent that they would try and demonise us!

However, this backfired well and truly. We’ve been called many things in life, and some a lot worse. So being called a demon is fuck all in comparison!
In fact, the image became something that the LGBT+ embraces.
I actually got that lovely design on a tee to specifically wear the the Pink Picnic, which was well accepted.
Squeebs
June we had to say goodbye to a member of the family.
Squeebs got to the stage where it just wasn’t fair on her anymore.
As the temps rose through the UK, Squeebs felt it. She never wanted to move, eat or drink. She just wanted to stay in her box.
As the heat continued to remain high, Squeebs continued to lose weight. It was becoming apparent that this was no longer just old cat weight loss.
As the heat lowered, Squeebs didn’t change. We had the conversation to monitor her and if there is no change, then we will deal with it later.
But later was too far away. It became apparent that it was now and not tomorrow!
That decision was heartbreaking!
It feels like I am losing another link to my brother, as she was originally his, which made this feel a little harder.
But, it was the best for Squeebs, in the long run.
Bowling
For several years now, I have been going to Gay City Bowlers.
You’d think that with so much experience, I would improve, but alas, you would be wrong!
My target was to always beat 100. Sometimes I achieved this goal. The majority of the time, I did not!
Earlier this year I got a PB (121) and I was happy. I did not expect to thrash it at the June get-together.
It turns out I play better when I am angry. Go figure!
Just before the games started, I received an email in relation to some neighbours making a complaint against us.
These petty fucktards had made several complaints, and while I found the whole situation funny and pathetic to start, my anger grew as it became apparent these eejits were trying their best to close the husby’s business down!
As we discussed this, my anger grew. And as my angrew grew, I took it out on the bowling pins!
In return, I ended up getting pbs. In fact, I was so close to actually getting a medal for the first time since peing part of GCB in about 4 years.
I came fourth, with 1 point behind 3rd place. I just lost out. Ah well!
Turns out, I just wasn’t angry enough!
