I am still playing catch-up with the “Today is all about” posts, but was determined to get the June post out before the end of the month.
Talking Points
Blackpool Pride

June saw me have an impromptu night out in Blackpool.
Rob and Mikey originally asked if I fancied going to an arcade, but when we got there, it was packed. So, wondering what to do next, we ended up heading to Blackpool instead.
I’d completely forgotten it was Blackpool Pride until we arrived. We didn’t catch the main stage, but we definitely joined the celebrations in some of the venues.
What started as just a couple of drinks turned into a few more, and then an overnight stay in the classiest of places down the street.
We had a great laugh. Sometimes the unplanned nights out really are the best!
Rubber Weekend
It feels like it has been ages, but it was nice to get out in rubber again. The Manchester Rubber Weekend is one of the busiest times for the scene, with people from all over the world attending.
Although we didn’t get a ticket for the weekend, as we had other commitments, we decided to at least enjoy one night out. Admittedly, it was one of the hottest days Manchester has experienced, so not ideal. I wore something a little more airy to suit the weather.
Generally, the crowd is pleasant and welcoming, and it was lovely to catch up with a few people we had not seen for a while.
We also did Sunday Service in rubber too, although the husby did it with a hangover.
Health and fitness
Those who know me, or those who have seen any of my previous posts, will know that I am into my fitness. I do not think a month goes by without me posting at least one sweaty post-gym workout photo.
This month, I have been making progress. I have been hitting my PBs. However, I have also been struggling really hard!
Since being ill at the end of last year, I have noticed that some of the cardio workouts have become a real battle. It feels like my heart is going to explode during the session, and it is starting to feel like a hindrance.
I also noticed that some of the data from my watch showed a drastic change around March. While it was still within the normal range, it was enough to make me pause. Given my family history with heart issues, I thought it would be best to get checked out, just for peace of mind.

The good news is that the heart is still working, and it is not made of stone. I do need to go for a spirometry test, though. When I had problems last year, I was given an inhaler, so it makes sense to check if this could be part of the issue.
