After a few weeks of CBA, I am finally trying to get my ass into gear and getting “Today is all about” for May done and dusted.
It should be quite a quick blog as I’ve written fuck all else!
Talking Points
Teeth Whitening
I have previously spoken about how I have had some work done on my teeth.
The abscesses that I had have gone, so I started the teeth whitening treatment at the beginning of May.
I received 4 vials and was informed that this would be a month’s worth of treatment.
I have no idea what the hell I was doing, as I had just opened the 2nd vial at the end of the second week.
Experience
I’ll be honest, I didn’t realise how sensitive it would be on my teeth.
In the first treatment, I got a sharp sensation down one tooth. Think of eating an ice cream and getting a sharp pain. Instead of inc cream, you bit into dry ice!
In the morning, the sensitivity was the most obvious. But as the day progressed, it calmed down.
After two weeks of treatment, I am happy with the results. It isn’t perfect and I still need to do a couple of sessions, but it is getting there.
Eurovision
May is when the Gay World Cup hits the UK, but this year we’re hosting for Ukraine who won last year.
As Eurovision fever hits the northwest, it is only fair that we should be ‘dragged’ into the celebrations.
As much as we would love to have got tickets to one of the actual shows, we decided against it.
It was either a decision to eat for the month or see one of the shows. I think eating takes priority, don’t you?
Instead, we went to the Welcome Party, which was a free(ish) event put on by the National Lottery.
The original plan was to pop over to Liverpool for the day, then get the last train home.
But on the day, I decided we should make a day of it and stay over. Less stress and more fun!
So, I booked a hotel, packed an overnight bag and headed to Scouseland!
Mistakes were made!
After running up the wrong stairwell for the train, we missed it and had to wait for the next. This is a semi-mistake, as the train we missed had change-overs, but the one we got didn’t and was arriving around the same time.
However, as we got to the hotel and tried to book in, they informed me we weren’t booked in for that day, but for the next day instead!
After a mild panic attack, and a quick call to the customer service team, we were able to transfer the booking and all was sorted.
The Show
There were a number of ways to get into the place, it appeared a lot of the queues were fast, apart from the one we had to join. But we got in, and we were next to the bars, so all was forgiven.
Granted, everything cost £6!
The main stage was situated, for photographic purposes, in a shit place, and was clearly crammed. However, the outskirts had screens everywhere.
We met up with a few other people who were there and positioned ourselves in a place where we could talk with each other, see the stage and watch the show from a screen.
With all that was happening away from the stage, such as light shows and acrobatics, we were in a good place to see it all.

The show itself was quite grand, and I felt it was a good mix of showing the city off and showing Ukraine support.
Let’s be honest, Frankie Goes to Hollywood was a massive letdown. To come on stage and sing one song (and not one of their most popular ones), and then fuck off!
Honestly, we thought they’d come back, but they didn’t.
The massive fanfare given for them to perform after so long felt like a disappointment in the end! But then there are talks of anniversary stuff and biopics, so who knows what the future entails!
Making a night of it!
As the show finished, we were made to walk what felt like the circumference of Liverpool. We finally made our way to Gaysville.
We enjoyed the delights of Masquerade, Boudoir and somewhere else.
The highlight of that night was watching three guys get poppered up to fuck, and prepare for what could only be a messy 3-way.
I knew it would be messy when I watched one of them snog the ear off the other!
Workout break
My current mojo for working out has been on a low especially as I feel like my body is getting worse instead of improving.
For the last few months, I’ve been questioning my gym attendance and justifying what I am paying is worth it.
It wasn’t!
So, I made the decision to leave the gym I was at. It wasn’t because I didn’t enjoy the place or the friends I made, it was purely a financial decision.
I don’t think it helped, that I have been dealing with a knee injury, that seemed to be worsening. So I wanted to take some time away, to see if physio and time will help.
What’s next?
Personally, just going to a gym and working out isn’t for me. I just don’t have the motivation for that. This is why I like CrossFit.
While it’s class-based, you aren’t competing with each other (unless you want to). It’s about competing with yourself more than anything. We all have our own goals. We’re just there to help push each other on.
So I have joined a new CrossFit gym, which opens are the end of June.
While I am waiting for this, I am going to use the time to recuperate and sort this knee out.
With a mixture of physio and no exercise, this will hopefully sort this shit out!
