I know. I KNOW! It’s later than planned. I was hoping to get it out a lot sooner. I had written the majority of it. I have been ill and couldn’t be arsed finishing it.
Any gays…here is October’s post.
Talking Points
Anniversary

11 years ago, we said “I do”, and to celebrate, we went out for our anniversary meal.
We like to go somewhere new, as Manchester has an array of eateries. The issue is that we always struggle with where to go. The husby has a princess palate. So, many venues are out of the question.
Somehow, I got him to agree to Six by Nico. If you have never heard of the place, it’s a set six-course menu. It’s themed for some weeks, so it’s always changing. It just so happens that anniversary week was “acceptable” for both of us.
We had a blast. Even being blindfolded didn’t hamper us. I also liked the fact that husby tried stuff that is out of his comfort zone.
While it took the husby outside his comfort zone, we had a blast. I’d definitely do Six By Nico again.
Marina Abramović

My friend Jason asked if I fancied an exhibition at Factory International, and I thought, “why not?” I knew only two things: there’d be nudity, and no cameras allowed. Fair enough.
What I wasn’t prepared for was the sheer wave of emotions. Over thirteen scenes, Abramović’s Balkan Erotic Epic explored sex, life, and death. It delved into Balkan traditions, tales, folklore, and speculation.
In one scene, I walked down a dark tunnel. At the far end is one of the ‘Sunbathing the corpse’. It is a plynth with a clear bottom. There is a mannequin on top with a light shining down.
It felt like a corridor you would see in a nightmare. At the bottom of the corridor, there was a window. It looked into a room with three monster-like ancestors in elaborate costumes. Cowbells jangled as snow fell. Tranquil, until one suddenly shook or rang out!
Another scene unfolded in a graveyard, where naked performers carried their own skeletons in slow motion. You watch for ages, time dissolves, and it’s unexpectedly moving.
And then there was the projected spectacle of men in traditional dress. Their cocks proudly on show, managing erections without a single touch. Hypnotic in its own way, especially the chap whose balls bobbed up and down like a metronome.
Sewing machine
For a while now, I have been thinking about getting a sewing machine. Granted, I don’t know how to use a sewing machine!
However, I got one this month, and the first thing I did was learn how to thread the fecker!
I want to make something I can wear. Right now, my focus is on learning how to use the thing. With Halloween coming up, I wanted to make alterations to my outfit so I could gayify it. Let’s just say, the fabric the outfit was made from wasn’t the easiest to sew, which stressed me out! But I got it done, albeit not as I wanted.
What do I want to do next? I don’t know. Something simple, like a cushion or a tote back so I can get some more practice…before going all designer and creating a top!
Manchester Pride
A few rumours were running around the mill. These suggested that Manchester Pride was in danger. It was also said that they hadn’t paid the artists. This month, it was confirmed, and Manchester Pride (the organisation) went into liquidation!
I have been very clear about my stance regarding Manchester Pride. I was very critical of how it was run. Since 2021, I have directly donated to LGBT+ charities instead of buying a Pride ticket. For the last couple of years, I haven’t really experienced the whole Pride event. I spent about a day or so at Pride. I went to a couple of bars and watched their acts. However, I didn’t participate in official Pride events.
Although the dirt that has been done on the performers and contractors is shocking. These are people’s livelihoods that the people at Manchester Pride knew they were messing with. The organisation knew there were financial issues. Still, it took a risk by doing Mardi Gras at Depot Mayfield. They couldn’t sell the required tickets.
While Manchester Pride, the organisation, has gone, the event itself hasn’t. In 2026, it will be back in some shape or form, and I am here to support it.
