I’m a couple of months behind with my ‘Today is all about‘ posts, so September is going to be a quick update, just so I can get through them. So there is going to be no ‘thought of the month’ you’ll be happy to hear.
September Activities
Todd
This month we lost our old man, Todd. He has been getting frail over the last few months but was still comfortable and not in any pain.
Then one day he took a turn for the worse, and within an hour passed away with both of us by his side.
In the 19 years the old man has been on this planet he has definitely had some interesting stories to tell. Like, the love and fun he has had with many of his sisters and brother. Falling out of an eight-story window, going missing for two weeks and then re-appearing with just a chipped tooth! Or when he decided to go AWOL for two days to only re-appear on the driveway giving himself a wash.
He will definitely be missed.
& Juliet
On a more positive note, we got the opportunity to go to a new musical, & Juliet.
Now I would normally write a review about what I go and see, but like everything else, it was sidelined. So think of this as a mini-review.
Based on Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo & Juliet’, this musical plays on the ‘what if’ Juliet didn’t die. The show follows where the play ended.
The music used throughout the show is well-known pop anthems, incorporated into the storyline. Some of which you don’t think would work…but they do! I can’t fault any of the voices, they were all fantastic, but Miriam-Teak Lee (who plays Juliet) absolutely blew me away.
The show is funny from the very beginning. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much through a musical before. It is definitely worth going to see if you haven’t already. If you have, then go see it again!
